New Backdrop and Lights

About a month ago, we were able to purchase some backdrops and new lighting equipment. Kara set it all up and wanted to take a few test shots with it to see how well the pictures would come out, but she had nobody around to take pictures of at the time, so she took pictures of herself. She put the camera on the tripod and turned the ten-second timer on, and this is what she came up with. (We thought they turned out pretty good considering the time constraints of the camera timer.)

Long Time, No Post

We just realized that we haven't posted anything on this blog for quite some time. We hit a rough patch in our personal lives (due to medical issues) a couple months ago and we're just getting back to normal again. Even though things have been a little crazy lately, we have been taking pictures, we just haven't posted them on here yet. We're going to start playing catch up in the next few days, but to start with we wanted to show you a type of photography that we've been interested in lately. The Saturday before St. Patrick's Day, Kara went around looking for things that are green, and then she photographed them and put them into a collage. This is what she came up with.

"School" Pictures

Kara's sister decided that this year she wanted more poses and backgrounds for her kids' school pictures than what the school photographers are able to offer. So these are her kid's "school" pictures for the 2009-2010 school year. There are quite a few of them posted on here because we won't be able to get the pictures to her for another couple of weeks, so this is her sneak peak at what she's getting. Her kids are adorable, so we know you'll enjoy this set of pictures!

Hughes/Aamodt Families. . .

The two wives of each family are sisters, and they both happen to be good friends of ours. We've known them since we were newlyweds and they were still in high school. They're so fun to be around! So needless to say, we had a blast taking pictures of their cute little families. These are some of our favorites from the session. Enjoy!

Graduation. . .Here She Comes!

These are our oldest neice's senior portraits. She had the most beautiful crystal clear blue eyes! It's crazy how grown-up she looks in these pictures. . . to think, just a few more months and she'll be free from high school! We're so excited for her, and we wish her good luck as she finishes the school year!

This is by far everyone's favorit picture of her! She looks so beautiful!

A New Green Baby and Some Older Green Children

This is a collage that we made in honor of our new nephew's birth. Originally, it had his full name, birth date, and his size, but for confidentiality reasons, we decided to post this one without that information on it. What we love about these pictures is that they were taken at the hospital the day after he was born, so you can really see how precious his little feet and hands are. He's definitely a keeper! We can't wait to see how handsome he'll be as he gets older.

These are our adorable nieces and nephews. It was a bit tricky getting the twin boys to crack a smile, but as you can see, our efforts were not wasted because they have very handsome smiles. The girls were more than willing to share their pretty smiles with the camera, which made this session all the more enjoyable. We were glad we got to spend a little time with our family for these pictures. . . we don't get to see them all that often, so this was a nice way to catch up. Thanks, guys! Enjoy your pictures!

Sanders Family Reunion

This lovely family was sooo much fun to take pictures of. Because the group was so large in number, we recruited the help of Kara's sister to help, who's help we are extremely grateful for. With her help, everything went smoothly, and we were able to get all of the different groupings that were requested. These are some of our favorites from the session.
