Gymnastics 2010!

Our nieces have been taking gymnastics classes for a while now, and they're getting really good at it. We're totally impressed by all the cool tricks they can do. They were more than willing to show off for the camera, so we were able to capture them doing some really amazing things. Here are some of the high-lights from the session (we realize there's a lot on here, but there were just so many amazing poses, we couldn't narrow it down farther than this). . .

Their brothers also take gymnastics, but they didn't want to put their uniforms on. They still came in to get their pictures taken, but they were really more interested in wrestling with each other. That's okay, though, because it made for some really fun pictures!

Easter Dresses 2010

Our nieces always get homemade Easter dresses every year, and of course their brother has to have an outfit to match. This year, their mom wanted us to take pictures of them in their new clothes. We always love taking pictures of these guys, so this was a treat for us. Here they are, ready for Easter. . . The two youngest girls also had new pettiskirts, so they had to have a pictures wearing those, too.

Our other niece and her best friend had matching Easter dresses this year. They were sooo cute together! This was such an enjoyable photo session. It was great to see how their sassy/fun personalities came through in the pictures.

Our Cousin's Wedding

In April, we had the opportunity to take pictures for our cousin's wedding. It was a beautiful event. The bride was so pretty, the groom was handsome, the flower girl and the ring bearer were as cute as can be. . . what more could you ask for? These are some of our favorites of the bride and groom. . .

Sweet Baby Girl

A friend of ours just had her first baby a few weeks ago, and we had the privilege of photographing their new little girl when she was only 12 days old. We're still pretty new at taking baby pictures, so this was a little challenging for us. The baby was pretty calm when we arrived at their house, but as we started to take pictures, she got fussy. She finally fell asleep toward the end of the session and we were able to get some really sweet sleeping pictures of her. These are some of our favorites from the session.

New Backdrop and Lights

About a month ago, we were able to purchase some backdrops and new lighting equipment. Kara set it all up and wanted to take a few test shots with it to see how well the pictures would come out, but she had nobody around to take pictures of at the time, so she took pictures of herself. She put the camera on the tripod and turned the ten-second timer on, and this is what she came up with. (We thought they turned out pretty good considering the time constraints of the camera timer.)

Long Time, No Post

We just realized that we haven't posted anything on this blog for quite some time. We hit a rough patch in our personal lives (due to medical issues) a couple months ago and we're just getting back to normal again. Even though things have been a little crazy lately, we have been taking pictures, we just haven't posted them on here yet. We're going to start playing catch up in the next few days, but to start with we wanted to show you a type of photography that we've been interested in lately. The Saturday before St. Patrick's Day, Kara went around looking for things that are green, and then she photographed them and put them into a collage. This is what she came up with.

"School" Pictures

Kara's sister decided that this year she wanted more poses and backgrounds for her kids' school pictures than what the school photographers are able to offer. So these are her kid's "school" pictures for the 2009-2010 school year. There are quite a few of them posted on here because we won't be able to get the pictures to her for another couple of weeks, so this is her sneak peak at what she's getting. Her kids are adorable, so we know you'll enjoy this set of pictures!
